Pregnancy Update
33 weeks (so almost 3 weeks ago...I swear my belly has grown a lot since then)
I'll be 36 weeks pregnant on Friday which will start month nine! My actual due date is April 22nd but I honestly don't think I will make it to my due date.
Last Friday night, I had contractions that were 7 minutes apart for about 12 hours. They didn't hurt but they were strong enough that they kept me awake almost the entire night. I even called the Dr. and almost headed to the hospital but then I actually felt like I could fall asleep and I was so tired, that's all I wanted to do. If they were painful then I definitely would have headed to the hospital. It kind of freaked me out though because I was only 35 weeks and having that many regular contractions for that long of a period of time was exactly what happened to me two nights before I went into real labor with Blakeley. And a few of my friends said the same thing..."That's exactly how it was two days before I went into labor." As much as I am excited to meet my new princess, I think 5 weeks early is too early! So I'm glad it was false labor.
Just to be on the safe side, I went to the Dr. on Monday just to get checked out since I had not had any internal exams yet & I was curious if I was dilated. I also just wanted to make sure everything was OK. The Dr. told me I was dilated 2cm and about 50-60% effaced. He estimated that I would probably deliver about two weeks early...especially since Blakeley came a week early and this is my second baby. Of course we all know that being dilated doesn't necessarily mean you will go into labor anytime soon...you can be dilated for weeks and I know he was just estimating. I think I was 1-2cm dilated with Blakeley for like three weeks.
However, I just have a feeling that I will deliver early because my body feels the way it felt the last week or two with Blakeley. Extra sore. And I'm showing some signs that I won't share since I don't want to be too graphic. I've also been having A LOT of contractions...they will be 7 mins apart for like two hours here and there. Tonight I walked around some stores for a couple hours and my body seriously feels like it took a beating! I feel like my belly is bigger this time too and I'm more uncomfortable which makes me wonder if Skylar will be bigger than Blakeley? I sure hope not! Blakeley was 7lbs 4oz which is big enough for me! I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
I've had some "oh crap!" moments lately where I do get anxious about having two kids since I know it will be harder but the way I see it, if all those other people out there in the world can do it, then so can I! I'm sure it will be hard at first and there will be an adjustment period but it will all work out & I will get into a routine.
I've also had moments where I've been really excited lately. I'm excited to see little Miss Skylar's face! She looked pretty cute in a couple of her 3D pictures...
Our princess will be arriving soon! Yippee!
