Fun at Chick-Fil-A
Yesterday we went to Chick-Fil-A and Blakeley had a blast! She didn't care to eat, she just wanted to play. And play she did.
I think this little boy liked Blakeley. He wasn't with us but he was cute!
He hugged her!
She also had her first ice cream cone (I've given her bites of mine before but I've never just handed one to her. She loved it & did a great job!
And I had a fun time socializing with my friends, Jenie & Jin.

5 Months!
Where does the time go? I swear I was just saying Skylar was four months!
She has had a lot of firsts recently.
Mid May- first smile
Beginning of August- could hold bottle & toy
Mid August- Started being really vocal & squealing
8.13.11- Laughed for first time (did a bunch of half laughs in a row when I was playfully wiping a burp cloth on her chin repeatedly and making a funny noise).
9.7.11-Has since laughed more when I gave her zerberts & tickled her stomach & sides. She seems ticklish.
8.30.11- Discovered her feet & started grabbing them
9.10.11- Sucked on her foot
9.10.11- Rolled over back to stomach (didn’t see it till 9.17.11 but I kept finding her on stomach when I would put her on her back starting on the 10th)
9.10.11- Started sleeping in her own room & slept through the night 5 out of 7 days so far. =)
9.17.11- Rolled over from stomach to back

In Rememberance...
Thinking of the heroes of 9/11 today. I remember where I was & what I was doing when I heard the news. May we pray for those who lost loved ones that day & for our military men & women who are now serving to keep us safe & to protect our freedoms. May we not take our loved ones for granted. To my family & friends...I love you! xoxo
If I had to sum up 9/11 in one word....HEROISM.
When I think of the brave men & women who saved others' lives without regard for their own life, I am overcome. I watched a documentary on 9/11 tonight & it was raw footage of the actual attack including footage inside the twin towers while everything was happening. Two brothers were doing a documentary about a rookie fireman & they were following him for nine months. While they were shooting this documentary, they happened to capture the attack of 9/11. It was heartbreaking to watch.
When I think of Flight 93 and the brave passengers, I cannot fathom it. The courage that those people had. The sacrifice that they made. They are heroes. Again...heartbreaking.
Here were some of my thoughts as I watched the documentary:
In a blink of an eye, the world changes
Life as we know it changes
Naive beforehand as to what's coming
Innocence ripped apart
Can't believe so much hatred exists
Sirens, smoke, debris
Pitch black sky
Soot & ash everywhere
So thick you can't breathe
Tears, shrieks...disbelief
Fear, confusion...disbelief
Mayday, mayday...
People falling
Debris falling
In shock
Running, running, running
As the smoke chases you
Trade center 1 collapses
Flames, heat, smoke
Casualties
Roar...as building 2 collapses
Billows of smoke
Unrecognizable sight
Building collapses to dust
Bloody noses, eyes burning
That day changed everything
Freedom under attack
Flag half staff
Faces
Names engraved
Human lives.
It doesn't seem real when you're far away and just watching on TV.
But the fact of the matter is that America came out on top. We came together in a time of crisis. I remember driving home from work that day and there were people on street corners waving American flags and chanting, "USA! USA! USA!" It was amazing. Even now as I type this and remember it, I get the chills because of how amazing it was. That in a time of utter insanity, we came together as Americans and brothers and sisters and showed that the human spirit triumphs over adversity. I will never forget.

Circus Fun!
Tonight we went to the circus in Seguin. It's a smaller town so it was a smaller circus but it was still fun to be together.
Blakeley got to ride a pony! So cute.
Skylar's making a stank face...
...at least it's a cute stank face.

We Are Stronger Than We Think
I just read my friend's child birth experience on her blog...she went all natural and it was a really hard experience. It reminded me that trials are temporary. At least most of them are. As soon as the baby was out, the pain was gone. Temporary.
My trial with Skylar...temporary.
I don't think I've posted this before but I asked a few friends of mine what they learned from hard trials they've gone through where health of a loved one was concerned.
This was one of my friends' response.
1) I am not in control of lifes journey but I am in control of the following: how I react to it, what I choose to do with it, and how much I learn from it.
2) I am always capable of more then I give my self credit for in each moment that fear seems to dominate me
3) There is no replacement in life for family and true friends.
Hello...#2. Whoa. AMAZING.
That's all.

Cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeese!
Blakeley says, "Cheese" and "smile" now when we're taking pictures & this is the smile she does when she says, "cheeeese!" hee hee.
She also says "thank you," "I love you too," and "I don't know" all in the last month or so. Sounds pretty cute when she says them too.

Melts My Heart
So sweet, right?!
I can't believe it's September! Where has this year gone?
My Birthday, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years. Blink & it's going to be 2012 which sounds so futuristic.
30 is just around the corner for me...I don't mind that I'm about to turn 30. I'm mostly excited for cooler weather. It was 107 degrees this past Sunday and has been about 100 everyday for awhile now! Too hot to do much outside & I really want to take Blakeley to the park. Anyways, yay for fall weather!
